SPC Porters Print E-mail
Paul Irons is the head porter at SPC, and has been with us since July 2006. His favourite thing about working here is the variation in the people he gets to meet. Paul enjoys a lot of sports, especially F1 and football (he supports Tottenham Hotspurs). The easiest way to bribe Paul would be "with a good bottle of wine." Mark Weavers joined SPC in Trinity 2009. He is a qualified pilot, and enjoys flying and gliding. Mark supports the Leicester Tigers, and describes himself as a curry-man who "can't taste anything unless it's got a kick to it." His favourite thing about SPC is night shifts with John McCormack.

Dave Jackson started working at SPC in 2006. He's a big fan of motorcycling, and is saving up to buy a bike. Dave was born and raised in Oxford, and supports Oxford United. His sense of humour keeps him and others going through a hard shift. His favourite thing about the job is meeting differing people. John McCormack A.K.A 'Little John' has been with SPC since Michaelmas 2000. He's a fan of horse racing, but prefers the statistics to gambling. John supports Liverpool FC, and his favourite thing about being a porter at SPC is the responsibility. If you ever need to win him over, he loves cod and chips.

Jeremy Parkinson joined SPC in 2009. His favourite thing about working here is how eventful it is. Jeremy "remembers being young, so he relates to students' antics." That's not to say he condones them all though! Jeremy spends his free time storm chasing in the US, and he's had a few close calls with F5 tornadoes. Jeremy says the best thing to bribe him with would be a cold beer.
